Since Travis doesn't have to work on Monday's we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day! We went up to the Wasatch National Forest and decided to go on a hike to Scout Lake. It was great to get out and hike with the boys and also do some fishin'!

3 Months to Remember

Well today Eldon is 3 months. And what a better way to celebrate this big occasion then having his older brother try to kill him. Yes well as I was doing some cleaning, Eldon was asleep on my bed and Kyler was playing around. All of a sudden I hear Eldon crying his hurt cry but it was different, broken. I came into my room where Kyler was sitting next to Eldon. At first I thought that Kyler had just stuck his finger down Eldon's throat but on closer examination I see something white in Eldon's mouth. Kyler had found a small, white, plastic thing and put it into Eldon's open mouth. Eldon was choking and I got to fish out the thing. Eldon gagged a few more times afterwards making me think that there might be something else down there. But upon examination I couldn't see or find anything. After a few minutes of pure fearful tears he was able to get his breathing back to normal. Those few moments also got me to calm down and really think about how Kyler didn't know any better and it wasn't intentional. Afterwards Kyler and I had to have a talk about how things don't get placed in any eye, mouth, nose, ear, or anywhere else on Baby Eldon. So scary but I am so glad that it all turned out ok!

Kyler all of a sudden loves dinosaurs and it's very often that he can be seen coming into the room as a T-Rex. It cracks me up so I just had to capture it on film and share it!

Fishing and the First Laugh

On Monday we took a family trip to the local reservoir to fish and explore. We had such a fun time finding crawdads, walking in the mud, and fishing. It was so great just to get away from town and just be out where it was quiet, where we could just explore and roam outside.

The boys actually caught a few fish. But this was their very first one they caught together! It was a defining moment in Kyler's life. After catching another fish Kyler picked it up and carried it around with him. It was a very devastating moment when the fish had to be cleaned.

Also Eldon laughed for the first time that day! It was adorable. We didn't get it on tape but we got this cute picture of him smiling (Allison please note the outfit he is wearing!!). And please ignore all the drool that is on the outfit.

Being a Mother of Two and Our Latest Adventures

I've been asked by a few people how I've adapted to being a mother of two. While contemplating my answer I've looked over my blog and realized that it has been a long time since I've just written to write. Maybe I think that people wont really read it or that I don't really have much to share. Perhaps its true and no one will read it, but its kind of nice to just write. I love being a mother of two!! I heard that if you have a hard time with two children, three children will be easy and if you have an easy time with two, three will be hard. I guess this means that Eldon will be our last . . . just kidding, I guess our third will be hard. Though I must say I never expected to have come out of my mouth things like: "Kyler, Eldon's head is off limits", "Eldon can't catch golf balls yet, so please stop throwing them at him", or "Can openers aren't meant to be used on babies." Despite some moments of pure overwhelmingness (is that a real word?) it has been wonderful to have two boys! Kyler is talking so much more and saying hilarious things and Eldon is starting to smile and coo! I love it! And I'm realizing more and more why we are blessed with boys, daughters would be deeply emotional scarred if I was their mother! Thank goodness for frogs, balls, T-Rex's, and wrestling!

The lastest in our lives is we went to the Utah State Fair last Monday and had a great time talking to animals, riding rides, and eating ice cream!

Kyler started PreSchool- I got emotional isn't that crazy? It's only for two hours and I had a hard time not crying! Seriously Nursery is the same amount of time and I have no troubles there!

And here is proof that he can't sing his ABC's correctly but he can count to 12 . . . Kyler not Eldon!! Also proof that I don't do my make-up or hair any more. (But I finally fit into my pre-pregnancy pants this week yahoo!!)

A True Wyoming Weekend

As a family we went horseback riding on Saturday and then on to the Demolition Derby . . .yep a true blue Wyoming weekend. Kyler was sooo excited to ride the horses. We kept telling him that after nap we would go and ride them, so after breakfast he looked at me and said "Nap now mom?" He's never been so excited for something his whole life! So it was a lot of fun. He was a great horseman and wasn't afraid to ride by himself and let his horse trot a little. Me on the other hand . . .wow I could learn a few things from my son. At least he didn't let his horse wander out on to someones lawn or just repeatedly say "whoa, whoa, whoa" every two seconds, or have to ask a random passing girl if she could help "get me off this thing!" Despite all my little mishaps I did enjoy myself and hope to become as good as my two-year-old!

Then on to the derby! Kyler thought that every crash was hilarious. He'd laugh and laugh every time. It was adorable. I don't know why it is so thrilling to witness cars painted up ridiculously hit into each other, but it is. Maybe I'm just becoming a true red neck but I found it all very entertaining.
