cell phone + bathroom + Kyler = diaster

Just the other day I sent Kyler to go to the bathroom . . . when I heard his "Mama all done." I didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. It was when I walked into the bathroom and saw his face that I knew something was up. He pointed down and said "Phone Mama!" And yep there was my phone at the bottom of the tank.

Not an actual picture of the event. If my phone was this nice I would have been even more upset!!

So if you were planning on calling me any time soon, please refrain, emailing is the best option as of right now. And if any of you are in the market for a boy who is a champion at throwing phones in the toilet please feel free to email me right away! Just kidding I would never give Kyler away!

Catching Frogs

I caught my first real life wild frog yesterday in the wild. I was so proud of myself!! We went to the Mountain Man Rendezvous and then went for a walk down by the stream. And these frogs were every where in the grass! So we all tried to catch as many as we could.
I was sooo proud of myself!
Boys being boys. Kyler's reaction is better portrayed in the video clip at the end of this post.
Yep we even wanted Eldon to experience it . . . I don't think he loved it very much. Please don't turn us into Family Services.

Newest Member of our Family

We'd like to introduce to you the newest member of our family. We love her a whole heep! It was a gift to us by Travis' parents and honestly we don't know how we survived without her for so long. Our poor other stroller endured a devastating accident well over a year ago in St. George and hasn't worked that great since, so it is such a joy to go out and walk around now with a completely working stroller!! Thanks Mom and Dad!

We also have so much more to blog about, stay tuned!

Afternoon at Bear Lake

On Sunday we went for a drive up to Bear Lake. It was our last full day with Mom so we wanted it to be fun. The drive was beautiful and it was fun just to talk and laugh. We found a place to pull off and went down to the lake. None of us meant to get so wet but the water was so inviting and warm that we could resist a little stroll!
Kyler loved throwing rocks in the water . . .unfortunately we all had to endure the splash!
Eldon enjoying the experience!!
Kyler and Travis got into a splash fight . . . Travis won.

Unfortunate Event

Well in an effort to make her experience in Evanston memorable we took my mother-in-law bowling. Everything was going well- the competition was fierce-

The Pro- Travis

The Experienced- Mom

The Team- Kyler and Me

It was an intense game, I'm not going to lie. Mom was in the lead and this is how the game ended. Yes, she broke her arm. Slipping down the lane after her ball she went down on her arm. So the game ended in a visit to the ER, another tourist place in Evanston, where they found the break. She is now sporting a wonderful pre-cast. We do feel so bad that it happened!! She has been so great about it and we hope that it heals fast.

Blessing

On Sunday we were able to bless Eldon. It was wonderful. I love the priesthood and I love that the man I love holds it worthily . . .I know that's a lot of love. The blessing was beautiful and the spirit so strong that I couldn't help get teary-eyed.Here are some of the pictures to highlight the experience.

All the family that traveled all the way to be there.

All the men that stood in the circle; Brother Holmes from the Bishopric, Great-Grandpa Porter, Grandpa Porter, Travis, Eldon, Uncle Steve, Grandpa Hogman, (my) Uncle Stu.

Our sweet boy in his blessing outfit.

Fort Bridger

Travis' parents are here visiting with us. It's not very exciting here in Evanston and we worried that they wouldn't have any fun here! But come to find out Fort Bridger is just 30 minutes away. So off we went to spend the day in history!

Kyler Saluting at the home of the commanding officer.

And some must push and some must pull!

The men in front of the fort.

In front of a covered wagon. It was such a fun outting. We did get rained out so we are excited to go again sometime this week and finish up the tour. Unfortunately Dad had to fly back home on Monday. We'll miss him!

Roundhouse Railroad Fun

Evanston has a lot of history with trains. In fact Trains are still a big part of this town and so they had a train day in the local railroad roundhouse. Kyler loved it because he frankly loves trains.

Getting a Bird's Eye View

This is Eldon enjoying himself- please ignore the throw-up on the side of his mouth

This was a ride that they had that actually went on train tracks and Kyler thought it was way neat!
