Did you know....

...that it is 10:00 p.m. and I am listening to my oldest boys giggling in their bedroom, and I'm ok with that.

....that spray sunscreen is harder to put on then it looks and sometimes your children just might have random sunburn streaks?

...that in this house the word energy is often pronounced "engerdy".

...that a little boy can be soooo happy to get a new container of "no corn syrup" ketchup that he hugs it to his chest all the way home.

....that here when a mom puts on an undershirt that her oldest son will say "That is so cool.  I wish I had an undershirt.  In fact all of my friends have undershirts.  And my school had an Undershirt Day and I was the only one who didn't have one ....ok I might have made up that last part."

...that a certain new four year old loves to say "Are you thinking what I am thinking?" and you never are.

...that if you are anemic that it might cause you to be emotional?  Good to know.

...that Eldon has to change his socks perhaps three times a day and wear two pairs at a time.

...that since summer started we have lost four pairs of shoes, three of which are Isaac's.

...that I no longer have to put any of my children in pull ups at night.

...that Eldon's current excuse is "my birthday was three days ago." and mine is "but mine is three days from now."

...that when Isaac runs he shimmies his chest...hilarious.

...that Maggie took her first three steps the other day.

...that Travis is the coolest guy ever!

...that life is pretty darn snazzy and so glad that this is the life that I am living!

Probably the best Field Trip in History of the World

At Clark Elemenary they take their Kindergarteners on one big field trip a year, the ZOO!!!  They asked for a whole bunch of volunteers.  Of course I wanted to go!  I drove down seperate with the rest of my crew, while Kyler rode the magical school bus.  My parents met us there and they took the other three while I went to meet up with Kyler's bus.  They ended up having so many volunteers that it was only me and Kyler.  I was so worried about it at first.  I mean just him and me, worried that he would be sad that none of his friends were with us.  Turned out fantastic.  He kept saying "Mom.  This is so nice just me and you! I love it."  Come to find out it was mostly because he could eat all the snacks that we brought!! 

 We ended up meeting up with my parents and taking a ride with all the kiddos on the Carousel.

 After seeing all the animals that he wanted we hit up the shop and spent forever for him to find a little something to take home.  I gave him a five dollar bill and he ended up picking out a small flashlight that projects pictures of animals that is on a key chain.  He had three quarters left.  So we headed over to feed the ducks, which he thought was the best ever.  Then the swans came over so we had to get more food to feed them too.  And we had to try out his projector in the bat cave. 

Oh man this kid is one of my best of friends!  We really had a great time.  We laughed, we saw all the animals that he wanted and watch them for as long as he wanted, and we ate all the snacks.  Because it was just us we were able to leave early.  We then spent more time just us too doing some shopping together.   And my heart was filled with joy as we held hands as we walked around and how he would randomly just give me the biggest hugs and how he just kept saying over and over "I am so glad it's just you and me.  Like a long date or something."  It was great!!!  And I hope he loved that I had to squeeze his hand every now and then, or randomly give him a kiss on his cheek, or say "Kyler I am so glad its just you and me too!"  Seriously the best field trip ever!!!!!!

May Family Spontaneous Trip of Greatness 2012

Travis had a show that he had to go to for work in Salt Lake City.  He talked them into setting him up in the hotel for the night.  A "Show" for Travis is where he goes and a certain company shows him and others the new products they have or other products and they can order them for cheaper.  Anywas we decided to go down and spend the time with just our fam.  We told the kids that we were going on an "Adventure" and didn't tell them more.  It was fantastic.  Seriously it was soooooooooo much fun.  It was a much needed getaway for all of us.  When we arrived Travis had to leave for the show.  So it was just me and the kiddos.  So the first thing on the agenda?  Jumping on the bed.  Yes we all were jumping on the bed and it was so fun.

Then we took the magical adventure of the Ice Machine Search....played a new game called "Which Elevator."  How you play is you push the button up or down then everyone stands by the elevator they think will be the one to open first.   Super fun.  Then I had the brilliant idea to take the kids swimming by myself.  Didn't even think that they wouldn't have a kiddy pool.  Well they didn't.  I spent 40 minutes of pure fear but trying to act cool so the kids didn't know that I was panicking.  We would get into the hot tub where they could at least walk around and stand up.  Then we would go back over to the big pool where they were only allowed to stay on the steps.  There was a worker who was in there who was sooo nice.  He suggested that I just put one of the circle life savor thingy....life preservor...what are those called?  Anyways put one of those on them....nice suggestion but not going to do that.  And then Kyler who is an ok swimmer, was done practicing and came back to the steps and kept falling backwards and I was to the point of putting Maggie down on the side and jumping in after him, decided I was soooo done with the pool.  So we went back to the elevators, played our "Which Elevator" game, got back to our room dragging towels, and dripping in the hall, asked Kyler (who was the key bearer) to put the key in.  He opened up the envelope and no key.  Great we lost the key.  So back to the elevators.  Played "Which Elevator" again.  Down to the front desk, dripping, and dragging towels.  Asked for a new key.  Got it.  Played "Which Elevator" again and made it back to our room and actually got in.  We then watched some cartoons...we don't have tv channels at our house so that was fun.  Travis showed up and we decided to go visit the City Creek Mall that was close to the hotel.

Saw the Fountain- with an Olive Garden buzzer (you know the one that tells you it's your turn) in pocket

 We ate at Olive Garden

Then went back to the City Creek Mall and went on both levels.

Went into the magical Disney Store

Sat by the Fireplace to warm up a little bit.

Climbed on a statue that I am not sure we were supposed to be on.

Looked for fish

By this point it was already late and I was all for bedtime but they all ganged up on me and talked me into returning to the pool of death...aka the hotel pool.  So we swam there for a while.  Travis took all the kids on his back, one at a time of course, and swam the length of the pool twice with them and then would switch.  Finally we were ready for bed.  This is how the boys slept.

 The next day Travis woke up super early to go play in the golf tournament that they were holding.  It was just me and the kids.  So we decided to go out by ourselves, I know brave right.  I was a little nervous to take all four kids out on the streets by myself.  But it was great.  Because we jumped on rocks.

We ended up at the Children's Exhibit at a Church Musuem.

We then went back to the hotel to wait for Travis to show up and check out.  When he did we decided to go back to City Creek and let the kids go in the water.  This is actually some pics from the day before with some art on the street.

We played in the water and then drank smoothies.

It was just the perfect little vaca for the fam.  It really was great!  I love visiting people but sometimes it is nice just to be your fam.  We had a wonderful time and can't wait to find another time to go on an Adventure!

The Last April 2012 Post ....I hope

Remember a few posts back when there was the picture of Isaac ready to go on a trip to Utah and I didn't remember why?  Well now I remember.  It was my Seminary Council Reunion...with a few of these people:

Yeah that girl in the middle with crazy short hair and dressed for winter?  That is me!  And a whole lot of other fantastic people.  So many great memories with them!

We tried to sit in the same place but we were missing a few people.  Like Travis, April, Jessica, and Brother Hathaway. Sure missed seeing them.

But we played and ate.  And all the kids loved playing together.  So fun to have kids togheter!

 Then we went back to my parents house and celebrated Maggie's birthday because my parents weren't able to come up the real day.  So we ate ice cream!

Favorite part of the picture?  Traivs in the background.  Hilariously fantastic man I married!

 Opened some presents

I think that also this month is when we got the call about Isaac and his allergies.  I took the kids in for a check up and asked on a whim if we could get Isaac retested for Allergies.  So we went in one day and they told me that they would call me in a week with the results.  They called two days later to let us know that he was allergice to Corn, Peanuts, and Wheat, and Sagebrush.  What?  Crazy.  It took me a long time to process the peanut allergy...but then I realized it was Corn that was going to be the hardest.  Cornstarch, cornmeal, corn syrup....crazy!!!  It is in everything.  I really felt grateful that he was still alive.  Especially thinking that last night we had Corn with dinner and ate peanuts at our friends house.  And to make it this long with so many allergies without any major problems.  Just felt so grateful that he isn't so allergic that he has had to go to the hospital and that he's never stopped breathing or anything.  That a rash and gross pottiness is what he has had.  Just felt so blessed and so happy that he is in our lives!
