Gender of our Baby

Well today we had our ultrasound and got to meet our new doctor. It's a very nice small town feel here to the doctors office and felt that we had all the time in the world to spend asking questions and looking at the baby. We were able to see the four chambers of the heart, and then two legs very close together. So we went back to look at the brain, and then two legs still very close together. So then we went to look at the face that was covered up by both arms . . . a very modest, shy child! It takes after me!! But finally after measuring, looking at arms, legs, feet, hands, brain, stomach, heart more than once, the baby separated it's legs just for a moment and it was pretty obvious! Yes the doctor is 95% sure that we are having another little boy! At that announcement our little Kyler clapped with no prodding from either of us! But we are so excited!! (Sorry Alicia to ruin your perfect prediction record!!)

Officially a Blogger

Well it has finally came and I count myself an official blogger now . . . I've been tagged.

1. What is his name? Travis Eugene Hogman
2. How long have you been married? 3 years and almost two months
3. How long did you date? Dated for eight months, engaged for four months
4. Who eats more sweets? Well . . . when I'm not pregnant I would say him but as of right now, Oreos are my favorite things ever and I tend to eat them everyday! So I guess it would be me right now.
5. Who said I love you first? Travis. I didn't know if I could say it back at that point so in response I just said "Could you say that again?"
6. Who is taller? Travis
7. Who can sing better? Without a doubt me but I must admit that him singing in his loudest voice as he's dancing with me sounds pretty darn good. . . well to me.
8. Who is smarter? Travis- he knows everything about anything and if he doesn't then he finds out, or makes it up I probably wouldn't know the difference :) jk, he is always learning!
9. Who does the laundry? Me, but if I could get him to do the ironing our world would be a lot less wrinkly.
10. Who pays the bills? Me, though he pays for it.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Depends on the state we live in . . . we've changed sides every time we've moved but currently Travis is on the Right.
12. Who cooks dinner? Me except Travis cooks one night a week, usually Sunday or Monday
13. Who drives? Him especially now that we are back in the snow. If you had a husband who has done police driving training, you'd probably let him do the driving as well.
14. Who is more stubborn? we are both pretty stubborn, makes for good times in the Hogman home!!
15. Who kissed who first? Well it had to be him, but he wouldn't have done it if I hadn't looked up . . . we were dancing and I knew that when I looked up he'd kiss me . . . so I guess our first kiss was a 50/50. Though my "Why did we have to go do that?" kind of ruined the moment!
16. Who asked who out first? Travis asked me out to a concert and ice cream- match made in heaven!
17. Who proposed? Oh totally Travis, though he waited until I told him I would for sure say yes when the time came.
18. Who wears the pants? We've each got a leg!

20 week countdown

Yes it's true . . . I'm half way done with this pregnancy. I've been asked by a few people what I look like, so here I am in all my pregnant glory! I'm happy that I am not huge yet but know that will come in just a few weeks. I was actually surprised how pregnant I look in this picture.

We finally got our insurance figured out and we're making the ultrasound appointment today! So we'll let you know as soon as we do what we are going to have.

P.S. that is a half a sticker on my leg that Kyler gave me, it kind of looks funny so I thought I'd explain!!

Fabulous FHE Activity

We went to the Rec Center here in Evanston for the first time last night. We were used to swimming all the time, and was missing it. So we went over there to swim with Kyler. We were impressed that they had inner tubes just to play with in the pool. Kyler really loved those! We had a really good time but it made me wonder what we were going to do in the next few months. We'll have two children! That means that either Travis will take both of them (because he is fabulous in the water with Kyler) or I'm going to be responsible for one of them at any given time, by myself! Yikes! That scares me but I guess I have a few months to prepare myself for that! Or we'll just never go swimming . . . nah! I'm just going to have to accept my responsibilities and swallow my fears!!

Valentines Day

For Valentines Day Kyler and I surprised Travis with a Chilean (he served in Chile) dinner. Complete with Shakira music in the background! We had an appetizer of chips and salsa, main dish of fried Empanadas and a salad of beans, onions, tomatoes, and crushed ships. We had a lot of fun making it for him and we think that he enjoyed eating it too!

He surprised me with my favorite hershey kisses (cherry flavored!) trailing from my bed down the stairs, to the front room, to lead me to one of my all time favorite movies, the Princess Bride. So sweet!

A New Me

Well being pregnant and enjoying all the "fun" changes that happens with your body, I have been wanting to cut my hair. So on Monday we were visiting my folks and I ran over to my cousin Kim's house to get a quick hair change. Well when asked what I wanted I told her I wanted my hair cut between my chin and my shoulder . . . as you can see it ended up shorter then everyone planned. I have to admit that I had a sort of panic attack in the chair when I felt the length but I am enjoying it more then I thought I would!! I wanted a change and that is definately what I got! This is what Travis thinks of it!! No he loves long hair so it is taking him some time to get used the dramatic change.

Indecision

I know that it seems that every day we have a new background on our blog . . .but the last one (though I desperately love lighthouses) was giving me a headache! So I had to change it much quicker then I had first anticipated. And since my favorite animals are pigs and we are the "HOG" mans, I thought that this would be appropriate. So I am sorry for my indecision!! Hope you like the change!

Our New Home

Well we have arrived in Evanston Wyoming safely and was welcomed by this white stuff falling from the sky. I believe that they call it snow. Kyler hates the snow but is loving the stairs in the apartment, Travis is enjoying work so far, and I am trying to collect my sanity by getting some order to the boxes.

It was harder then we imagined leaving our first home but couldn't deny how the Lord seems to want us here. I guess this is where we will grow the best right now. And as hard as change, leaving friends and loved ones behind, it is exciting to start a new and realize that a new potential can be reached. I am quickly learning things that I had forgotten while living in St. George. For example, sandals are not to be worn year round, coats do have a place in this world, skiing can be on snow as well as on water, and it is best to shovel not long after the snow has fallen. All in all, I think we are going to like it here!

Haircuts of Champions

So we haven't cut hair for a long, long, long time. With a new job and Kyler looking more like a girl each day, we decided it would be a perfect family home evening activity. I thought I'd share with you how handsome my boys look!
