Kyler's Easter Outfit and 14 Week Countdown!!

I promised a picture of Kyler in his Easter outfit and I had to make due!! So here he is! He was being kind of bashful for the picture but I still wanted to post it!

Well it's been a while since I've posted a picture of me and my wonderful belly (insert sacrastic tone here). But since I've only 14 weeks left I thought I would show an update on how things are progressing. This feels like the longest pregnancy ever . . . but I am appreciating the time that I have left as a mother of one. We are getting really excited about the upcoming arrival and have gotten the baby's bed up, diaper basket full, and changing table ready.

Where has all the Sleep gone??

So I had the "great" idea to take a side off Kyler's crib and make it into a real bed. I figured that would be a good idea so that when the baby gets here I wont have to be up with two boys. This would give Kyler plenty of time to get used to it and not have too many changes when the baby comes. Well . . . needless to say nap/bed time has desperately changed in the past few days. I don't mean to complain, but when you wake up at two in the morning to a little face right next to yours with a big grin and a "Hi!" it's a little alarming! Kyler gets up a few times every night, sometimes it's like the experience above, other times he's yelling my name as he's climbing down the stairs. Nap time has become ridiculous!! So if any one has any bright ideas on how to keep a little busy guy in bed for nap time or how to stay cheerful with a little guy who wont stay in bed to nap, our family would appreciate it!

Maybe if I did this every time for nap, things would be different??

Fun Day in Salt Lake

While we were in Salt Lake we decided to keep celebrating Kyler's birtday so we had a packed day of fun! First we got his two year pictures which turned out sooooo good!! And after his picture, Travis was paying and I went to go give something to my parents when a man walked into the store and it was Elder Scott!! That was way neat. I didn't talk to him or anything because I figured he probably got that a lot! So we let him be but it was still fun to see him. Then we went to the zoo! And we loved that!

And after that we went to bowl at Fat Cats and had pizza at the Pizza Factory! Kyler really enjoyed trying to bowl. He kept picking up the bowling balls and trying to get the lane before whose ever turn it was.

Happy Easter

I love, love, love Easter!! We had a fun time coloring eggs at Kyler's Birthday celebration! Kyler wasn't too sure about it at first but then he quickly learned to love it and constantly asked to do "blue egg!"

Easter morning Kyler understood the rules way better then we thought he would and quickly ran around and found eggs and baskets. He had such a good time and we couldn't get him to stop eating Jelly Beans.

Then after church (sorry no pics of him in his Easter outfit next week we'll get a pic of him) we went to my parents house and had dinner and had a small easter egg hunt in their backyard. And he loved that!

Turning Two

Well it has finally happened, I am the mother of a two year old. Hard to believe yet Kyler makes me realize daily how real it is. It was almost as if at midnight of the 19th of March, the "terrible twos" just seeped through! After a breakfast of pancakes and sausage, I ran upstairs to make the beds and came down to him surrounded by wrapping paper. He had found his presents and had commenced in opening half of them! But we had a fun day with a lunch with Papa, lots of balloons, and fun treats. Then on Thursday my parents arrived to help celebrate the occasion and Trav's parents got on webcame to watch him open presents and eat cake. It was fun and Kyler loved all the gifts that he received.

Tender Moment

The other day I walked into Kyler's room and saw this! It was so sweet to see both my boys underneath some blankets just reading and talking together. This is really what it is all about isn't it? I'm so glad that I keep getting this constant reminders that Families are Etneral and that the simple things make life worth living.

A Nice Surprise

Travis surprised Kyler and I with tickets to Disney on Ice. I have wanted to get to Disneyland ever since we've been married, but because of schooling, work, and pregnancies, we've never been able to make it. So to dull the pain :), he took us to Disney on Ice. I had no idea, not even until we were walking up to the NuSkin Center that he was taking us there. Kyler loved it and for the first ten minutes couldn't stop clapping and yelling "yeah!!" When King Titan came out for the Little Mermaid Kyler yelled "Santa!" It was so much fun! We really had a great time!! (And yes Kyler did have an accident!! Much to our surprise. Don't worry it was taken care of!)

What you may not know. . .

Thanks to Shayla here is my second time being tagged. This one proved to be harder because I guess I'm supposed to tell you six things you may not know about me. The last one I just got to brag about my hubby, but here we go . . .we'll see how it goes.

1. I get very obsessive about projects. If I start a book I have to finish it asap, child, hubby, housework gets neglected just so that I can finish it. If I start a sewing project I have to get it down as quickly as possible no matter what the cost. That is how I am with all projects big and small. My poor family.

2. Easter is my absolutely favorite holiday!! I've loved it every since I can remember but because of a very special friend and an early morning ritual it has become every more special to me.

3. The summer before we got married I almost cut my big toe off with an ax . . . so much for me being handy.

4. I love old movies. When I'd go to my Grandma Porter's home for a sleep over, we would watch old movies together. Because of her one of my favorite all time actresses is Loretta Young.

5. I have a blanket that my Grandmother Brady made that I used a lot when I was little. My mother gave it to me to keep when Kyler was born, but because it has so much meaning to me, its on my bed and stays in my room. Oh Kyler can snuggle up in it but . . .it's my blanket.

I would like to tag . . . .Cindy, Steph, Jessica Kay, and Jessica Wardle

Snow isn't so bad after all

Well it has finally happened, Kyler has become not only accustomed to the snow that once paralized him, but has actually grown to love it. We went on a walk yesterday and I was surprised to find him asking to get nearer to the snow. So I helped him up to it and the next thing I know he's grabbing a handful and throwing it at me (Travis didn't tell me he had taught him this trick!) So there we stood having a snowball fight . . .which was really just us throwing snow up into the air. I'm sure if anyone had looked out their windows would have thought that we had both lost our minds, throwing snow up as high as we could and laughing hysterically (Alright so no one would doubt the sanity of a two year old doing that but a 23 year old . . .) But his immense love didn't stop there, the next thing I know he's jamming handfuls of it in his mouth and with a big grin on his face saying "mmmm, yum!" and rubbing his tummy! It was such a fun walk and I couldn't help just taking a moment and just being overwhelmed with appreciation for being blessed with a little man who makes me take a moment and enjoy the simple things! How did I get so lucky?

Duck, Duck, Goose

Here is a video of our FHE tonight playing Duck, Duck, Goose. Kyler was a ham and didn't like to play as much when the camera was on. I included the fall at the end cause that makes me laugh the hardest!.

Hogman or Porter?

I've seen this on some other blogs and thought it would be fun to do. People are always telling us that Kyler looks completely like a Porter or that he is such a Hogman. Looks like everyone is right!

Spruced Up, Chattin', IKEA, and a Moose

Well I thought I'd add some of my new favorite pictures. Kyler has a suit for Sunday that he looks absolutely adorable in but it gets kind of old putting him in that every Sunday. So I thought a change of pace would be good and so we put him in a button up shirt and a bow tie!

Kyler and I went to West Valley just for a break! I mean we are close, we might as well! Kyler got to spend some time with Brody Bigelow (not to mention that I got to spend time with Cheyenne, which is always fabulous, Thanks for the time Shine!), and I got to do some much needed shopping. In the car, Uncle Steve called and Kyler talked and talked and talked to him. I just thought it was funny that he looked like an adult just chatting on the phone.
I love IKEA!! And we got to go and spend the time with my parents. Kyler loved the frozen yogurt cone! And of course he had to try out EVERY SINGLE BED in IKEA. He had to pull the covers up and then pretend to snore while his eyes were closed.
Lastly, as we were coming home from Stake Conference today we saw a Moose just walking down the street. It wasn't very far from our home. She was just walking down the street!! She got pretty close but looked like her leg was hurt! But wow those animals are BIG!!
(Insert mental image of large female, limping moose)
